FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q:  Do you ship?
A:  No.
Q:  Why not?
A:  It is extremely difficult to ship from my location.  It is better for the puppy to be carried on the plane or driven to their new home.
Q:  Why do you breed?
A:  I breed because it is my passion!  I love producing my next show, working and hunting dog.  After 30+ years I have known many of the dogs personally in the pedigrees.
Q:  How often do your breed?
A:  It depends on what I need, which girl I'm thinking about using.
Q:  How many times do you breed your dogs?
A:  Generally once or twice.  Very rarely a third time if they've had a small litter.
Q:  Do you repeat a breeding?
A:  NEVER.
Q:  Why?
A:  Two reasons.  1.  I only breed once or twice so why would I repeat?  2.  Maintains genetic diversity.
Q:  Do you do temperament testing (TT)?
A:  No.
Q:  Why not?
A:  TT is for people who haven't raised many litters.  Think of it as a "Dummies Guide" on how to select a puppy.  There is no substitute for personal experience and observation.
Q:  How are your puppies raised?
A:  They are raised in my laundry room which is adjacent to my kitchen and about 10 feet from my bed.  We use a baby gate so puppies can see, hear and smell everything that is going on in the house.  Puppies are exposed to early neurological stimulation from 0-10 days of age.  They are handled daily.  Starting at 5 weeks, they are taught to go outside to potty.  They are also hard-wired to my whistle.  I whistle for feeding starting from the time they can hear and are put on mom to nurse.
Q:  What things do you expose your puppies too?
A:  They have all kinds of toys from hard rubber balls, chew toys to soft toys with squeakers.  They are exposed to all kinds of surfaces including laminate, vinyl, carpet, dirt, concrete and grass.  They are exposed to all kinds of normal house-hold sounds.  They have baths.  They have nails trimmed.  They have grouse wings.  They go for car rides.
Q:  Do you let people come to visit?
A:  I used too.  Unfortunately people kept cancelling at the last minute.  Six times in 2017 alone.  I no longer arrange visits unless I know the individual personally and can count on them to show up.
Q:  What else do you do to insure a healthy puppy?
A:  I worm with pyrantel weekly until 6 weeks, followed by a 3 day course of Panacur and a second course at 8 weeks.  Pups are vet checked, micro-chipped and first shots between 7 and 8 weeks.  I sell puppies with a health guarantee.
A:  Why should I get a puppy from you?
Q:  I LOVE my dogs!!!  Next to my family (and my dogs are family) they are the most important thing in my life.  They are my full time responsibility.  I devote almost my entire day to making sure they are well cared for.  Most importantly, I'm in it for the long haul.  I'm not going to breed a litter or two and disappear when something should go wrong with your puppy/dog.  I'm there to answer questions and offer suggestions.
